As I can't blog more often, I am using Pinterest to post easily.
Follow my pinterest board. Thank you.
I am using iTunes in my PC instead of WMP. The main reason is it's album art handling. Normally, I edit most of my MP3 tags because I won't like a whole album. So I created albums for my easy reference.
| Example: Album named Fav from Akon contains all of my favourite Akon songs.
The problem with most of the players including WMP is that, they will replace all song's album art within an album with a single one. But I've different album art for every song within the album.
iTunes won't change the embedded pic while playing. That's why I am using it.
In case of Android players, ttpod is the only player with such handling.
ttpod features:
-Beautiful interface. (elegant fullscreen album art display, also in lock screen)
-Headphone controls. (single press to pause, long press for previous, double press for next song)
-Lyric download and display in player and also as floating text in most of the apps. (finds lyrics with great precision and downloads them. Has the largest lyrics library.)
-Skins, radio, auto download album art/lyrics.
-Shake controls.
-One click scan.
-Indicator for HD songs.
-Equaliser with predefined settings.
-Skip files with length <1min.
-Wi-Fi import.
Touchpal- the only keyboard with edit functions.
A good thing about working with a PC is hardware. i.e., Using keyboard and mouse, we can be more productive. There are very less people, who use PC's without using keyboard functions for content editing(ctrl + c/v/x).
Ever wondered why virtual keyboards don't have dedicated keys for content editing?
Well, TouchPal is the only known keyboard with a dedicated content editing keyboard.
It's pretty much user friendly and this function is a major reason for why I am using this app. You can move around inside content with those arrow keys and everything else is pretty much known to everyone.
This editing keyboard is one of the inbuilt plugins in the app. Others are twitter(to post quickly without any other app), voice recognition, TouchPal speed and contacts.
Features:
-swipe to type.
-3 types of layouts.(T+ which consists of 2 char per key, T12 which is a traditional twelve key board, qwerty)
-Smart next word prediction.
-Backup user dictionary.
-Learn from texts and contacts.
-Dedicated key in Top right corner to minimize.(don't have to tap key in fear that it would undo all progress)
-Prediction toggle by swiping space key.(can swipe to predict even in url/mail/password text boxes)
-Whole word deleting by swiping backspace key.
-Capslock key.
-Save words even with symbols.(useful for email IDs)
-Change key sizes and more.
-Change skins on the go.
I am using Black key skin.
Quickpic is the fastest gallery app I came across for Android.
This app's caching mechanism is great. First time caching is slower(2-3 secs). You can choose from four background themes.
Features:
-Light weight.(840kB)
-Include videos.
-Exclude folders.(don't show them in the app. You can change them from settings.
-Scroll thumbnails vertical/horizontal.
-Full screen(hide status bar).
-Square thumbnails/original shaped thumbnails(crop thumbnails).
-Open last browsed folder during startup.
-Inapp Password protect hidden folders.
-Share to app list reorders automatically according to most used option.
-Basic editing functions(rotate,crop,resize).
-Stack,grid,list,explorer view modes.
-Sort ascending/descending by name, date and path.
I am a feedly fan.
Until google reader was dropped, I wasn't a regular feed reader.
Then come the Feedly hype.
I have read about Feedly in many blogs and posts. Then I tried it's web interface.
First impression was great.
I just logged in with my google account.
Feedly retrieved my google reader additions.
The interface is minimal yet feature rich.
I am still using Feedly in my phone without looking for an alternative.
Practically, you can add anything to Feedly reader list by just typing the full
Url. But before Feedly, RSS readers won't avail some blogs.
Now I can add anything including my own blogspot feed.
